How much does a deck cost?
The cost to build a deck depends on size, material and labor. Multiply the deck's square footage (or metres) by the per-unit installed cost of your chosen material.
- Pressure-treated wood: $15–$25 per sq ft installed.
- Cedar: $25–$35 per sq ft installed.
- Composite: $30–$45 per sq ft installed.
Add 10–15% for stairs, railings, built-in benches or a second story. Permits and removal of an old deck cost extra.
